IMPLEMENTASI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN GROUP INVESTIGATION (GI) SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR IPA SISWA KELAS VI-C SD NEGERI 2 METRO TIMUR TAHUN PELAJARAN 2015/2016

Abstract


This research is motivated by the results of observations of science learning of students of class VI-C in SD Negeri 2 Metro Timur which shows that the learning outcomes are still low. Therefore this study aims to improve the learning outcomes of science through the learning model of Group Investigation (GI) in class VI-C students of SD Negeri 2 Metro Timur Even Semester Academic Year 2015/2016. This research is a classroom action research conducted in three cycles. The subjects of this study were class VI-C students of 36 people. The object of research is the improvement of science learning outcomes through the learning model of Group Investigation (GI). The technique of collecting data is done by observing activities and student achievement tests. Data analysis techniques using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis.The results showed that the science learning outcomes improved after being given action through the application of the Group Investigation (GI) learning model. The average science learning outcomes increase from cycle I, cycle II, and cycle III. The average science learning outcomes of students increased from the first cycle to 67.22 or 55.56% completeness of students to 74.58 or 80.56% completeness of students, and in the third cycle increased to 81.67 or 94.44% completeness student learning outcomes. Improvements made in the first and second cycles, namely in the grouping stage, which initially each group consists of 6 people become 3 people and the teacher's time management needs to be more considered. This is done so that students are more concentrated in small groups and teachers more easily manage and guide students in groups. In cycle III the learning outcomes of science in students have reached the specified completeness limit of 85% so that in the third cycle the study was stopped and students were declared complete with grades above the KKM, so the learning process was declared successful.To improve the learning outcomes of the material of the earth and the universe, teachers are expected to use the Group Investigation (GI) learning model because it can increase the activeness, creativity of students and the effectiveness of learning. Did not rule out the possibility of using the Group Investigation (GI) learning model in other material and other subjects in improving student learning outcomes.
