IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM AL ISLAM DAN KEMUHAMMADIYAHAN (AIK) DALAM MEMBANGUN KARAKTER MAHASISWA

Abstract


This study aims to determine the implementation of the Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan curriculum in building student character at the University of Muhammadiyah Metro (UM Metro). Character education is the main objective of providing education at the University of Muhammadiyah Metro and specifically character education in the Muhammadiyah Higher Education environment has also existed since Muhammadiyah College (PTM) was established. Character education in PTM is called Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) education.

The results showed that UM Metro has developed and implemented character education through the AIK curriculum. The AIK curriculum has been formulated in such a way with systematic governance both in terms of policies, content, and organizational management. Data analysis is used in data reduction techniques, data presentation, and concluding. The results of the study show that many positive things have been achieved through the AIK curriculum implementation model. However, the implementation of the AIK curriculum has not fully achieved the expected targets to the fullest. Several things must be addressed to achieve the goal of character education at UM Metro to the maximum, especially in the content of materials and learning methods which still tend to only reach the cognitive realm of students. However, the AIK curriculum management function at UM Metro has been well structured and implemented.
