RINTISAN PKBM CAHAYA ILMI DALAM RANGKA PENINGKATAN LITERASI MASYARAKAT

The literacy of Indonesian society tends to be still below if compared with other countries. It can also be seen from the implementation of PISA 2015 in which of the 69 participating countries, for science, reading and math, Indonesia is ranked 62, 61 and 63. In non-formal education, the Community Learning Center (Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat – PKBM) can become one of the institutions that can help the community in increasing literacy. One of the existing PKBM is PKBM Cahaya ‘Ilmi in Yosomulyo, Metro City. PKBM Cahaya ‘Ilmi is still in the process of developing so that there are various programs that must be done. The focus of the devotee's team is related to the improvement of community literacy by establishing Community Reading Gardens (Taman Baca Masyarakat – TBM). The steps taken are activity permit, coordination of the team of devotees with PKBM Cahaya ‘Ilmi, the realization of TBM procurement, management training, and socialization to the community. The result is the formation of TBM located in civil servant Block D1 Number 12 Yosomulyo, Metro City.. In addition, the PKBM is also equipped with procedures for the preparation of administrative tools required by TBM. The average PKBM management capability associated with TBM is also in a good category with 62.5% being at "highly understood" and 37.5% at "understood" level.
