Abstract

ABSTRAK

 

COVID-19 merupakan penyakit baru yang menginfeksi saluran pernapasan yang dapat menimbulkan kematian. Penularan COVID-19 dari manusia ke manusia melalui percikan ludah (droplet) dari penderita ataupun kontak dengan benda yang sudah terkontaminasi virus. Pengabdian masyarakat bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pencegahan penularan COVID-19. Bentuk kegiatan adalah penyuluhan, pembagian paket pencegahan COVID-19, Vitamin-C dan leaflet, pelatihan cuci tangan pakai sabun pada anak usia sekolah, serta pelatihan penyemprotan desinfektan. Sebanyak 80 rumah tangga telah didatangi dan diberikan penyuluhan tentang penularan serta cara pencegahan COVID-19, serta dibagikan masker, hand sanitizer, Vitamin-C, dan leaflet. Sebanyak 25 orang anak usia sekolah di-edukasi dan dilatih cara cuci tangan dengan sabun. Penyemprotan desinfektan dilakukan di tempat-tempat umum sebagai percontohan jika terdapat kasus COVID-19. Penyuluhan mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang cara penularan dan pencegahan COVID-19. Keterlibatan semua elemen masyarakat sangat dibutuhkan agar tercipta era kehidupan baru yang normal.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 is a new disease that infects the respiratory tract and can cause death. Human-to-human transmission of COVID-19 through droplets from sufferers or contact with objects that have been contaminated with the virus. Community service aims to increase knowledge about preventing transmission of COVID-19. The activity was counseling, distribution of COVID-19 prevention packages, vitamin-C and leaflets, hand washing training with soap for school-age children, and disinfectant spray training. Many as 80 households have been visited and given counseling about transmission and how to prevent COVID-19, and distributed masks, hand sanitizers, Vitamin-C, and leaflets. As many as 25 school-age children were educated and trained on how to wash their hands with soap. Spraying of disinfectant is carried out in public places as a pilot if there is a COVID-19 case. Counseling can increase public knowledge about how to transmit and prevent COVID-19. The involvement of all social elements is needed to create a new-normal era of life.
