EDUKASI DAN DETEKSI DINI HIPERTENSI PADA WANITA MENOPAUSE DI KELURAHAN WALE KOTA BAUBAU

Menopause merupakan kejadian lumrah yang dihadapi oleh wanita, namun menopause mempengaruhi komposisi tubuh seorang wanita dan risiko penyakit kardiovaskuler meningkat seperti hipertensi. Wanita mungkin tidak mengetahui bahwa gejala yang mereka alami berhubungan dengan menopause, atau bahwa ada pilihan konseling dan pengobatan yang dapat membantu meringankan ketidaknyamanan yang dirasakan pada saat menopause. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode action research dengan pendekatan parsipatory action program dengan bentuk pendidikan kesehatan melalui metode ceramah dan tanya jawab dan dirangkaikan dengan pemeriksaan tekanan darah sebagai tindakan awal deteksi dini. Hasil pengabdian yaitu deteksi dini hipertensi pada wanita menopause sebanyak 80% peserta mengalami hipertensi dan adanya pengetahuan yang tinggi pada peserta tentang hipertensi dan menopause yaitu sebanyak 65%.
