Sosialisasi dan Pelatihan Pembuatan Spray Anti Nyamuk Alami (Serai dan Kemangi) di SMA MUAD Kota Metro

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan judul “Sosialisasi dan Pelatihan Pembuatan Spray Anti Nyamuk Alami (Serai dan Kemangi) di SMA Muhammadiyah Ahmad Dahlan Kota Metro†bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa mengenai pencegahan penyakit yang ditularkan oleh nyamuk melalui pemanfaatan bahan alami lokal. Latar belakang kegiatan ini didasarkan pada masih tingginya kasus penyakit tular vektor seperti demam berdarah dengue (DBD) di Indonesia, serta tingginya penggunaan bahan kimia sintetis dalam produk anti nyamuk yang berpotensi menimbulkan efek samping terhadap kesehatan dan lingkungan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi mengenai penyakit akibat gigitan nyamuk dan bahaya penggunaan bahan kimia, dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan pembuatan spray anti nyamuk alami berbahan dasar serai (Cymbopogon citratus) dan kemangi (Ocimum basilicum). Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan melalui post-test, observasi aktivitas peserta, serta penyebaran kuesioner kepuasan mitra. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan siswa sebesar 78% berdasarkan hasil post-test. Seluruh peserta mampu membuat produk spray alami dengan aroma yang khas, larutan stabil, dan kemasan menarik. Kegiatan ini juga meningkatkan kesadaran siswa terhadap pentingnya penggunaan bahan alami yang ramah lingkungan serta menumbuhkan semangat inovasi dan kewirausahaan berbasis sains. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif dalam peningkatan literasi sains, kesadaran kesehatan lingkungan, dan kolaborasi antara perguruan tinggi dan sekolah dalam penerapan ilmu biomedis terapan.References
