Editorial Policies
Muhammadiyah Law Review is an international peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro. The journal is committed to maintaining high standards of editorial quality, academic integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing practices. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated based on their originality, scientific contribution, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal's focus and scope.
Editorial Process
All manuscripts submitted to Muhammadiyah Law Review undergo the following editorial process:

Initial Editorial Screening
The Editorial Office conducts a preliminary assessment to ensure that the manuscript complies with the journal's Author Guidelines, formatting requirements, scope, and publication ethics.

Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with unacceptable levels of similarity or evidence of plagiarism will be rejected or returned for revision before entering the peer-review process.

Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process by at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's subject area. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.

Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief may issue one of the following decisions:

Accept without revision;

Accept with minor revisions;

Reconsider after major revisions; or
-
Reject.

Revision Process
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers' and editors' comments within the specified timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.

Copyediting and Proofreading
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting, language editing, layout editing, and proofreading to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with the journal's publication standards.

Publication
Articles that have successfully completed all editorial stages are scheduled for publication in the forthcoming issue of Muhammadiyah Law Review.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently based solely on the academic quality, originality, relevance, and contribution of the manuscript. The editorial process is conducted without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.
Confidentiality
Editors and reviewers treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. Information contained in submitted manuscripts will not be disclosed to anyone other than those directly involved in the editorial and peer-review process.
Conflict of Interest
Editors, reviewers, and authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the editorial process or the interpretation of research findings. Editors and reviewers must withdraw from handling manuscripts whenever a conflict of interest exists.
Research Integrity
Muhammadiyah Law Review is committed to preventing publication malpractice, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, and inappropriate authorship. Any allegation of research misconduct will be investigated in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain the copyright to their published articles while granting Muhammadiyah Law Review the right to publish and disseminate the work. Published articles may be accessed, read, downloaded, cited, and shared in accordance with the journal's open access policy and applicable licensing terms.
Archiving Policy
To ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of published articles, Muhammadiyah Law Review maintains electronic archiving through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and other indexing or preservation services adopted by the journal.
Corrections and Retractions
When significant errors or evidence of publication misconduct are identified after publication, the Editorial Board may publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retract articles in accordance with internationally accepted publication ethics standards.
Publication Frequency
Muhammadiyah Law Review is published twice a year, in January and July. All accepted manuscripts are published according to the journal's publication schedule after successfully completing the editorial and production processes.
