Publication Ethics
Muhammadiyah Law Review is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is dedicated to ensuring a transparent, objective, and ethical publication process. All parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to uphold these ethical standards.
Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

The submitted manuscript is an original work and has not been published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.

All sources, references, quotations, and ideas of other authors are properly cited in accordance with academic standards.

The manuscript does not contain plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, or any other form of academic misconduct.

All listed authors have made substantial scientific contributions to the research and have approved the final version of the manuscript.

Any financial support, funding sources, or potential conflicts of interest are disclosed in the manuscript.

If significant errors are discovered after publication, the authors promptly notify the editorial office and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article when necessary.

Research involving human participants complies with applicable ethical standards and legal regulations.
Responsibilities of Editors
The Editorial Board is responsible for:

Making publication decisions based solely on the academic quality, originality, significance, and relevance of the manuscript.

Conducting the editorial process fairly, objectively, and without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion, institutional affiliation, or political views.

Maintaining the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts throughout the editorial and review process.

Preventing conflicts of interest during the editorial process.

Taking appropriate action in cases involving plagiarism, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or other forms of publication misconduct.

Preserving the integrity of the scholarly record through corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when necessary.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers play an essential role in maintaining the quality of published articles. Reviewers are expected to:

Conduct reviews objectively, fairly, and constructively based on scientific merit.

Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and not disclose any information to unauthorized parties.

Identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors.

Notify the editors of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, ethical concerns, or substantial similarity with other published works.

Decline to review manuscripts when conflicts of interest exist or when they lack sufficient expertise in the subject matter.

Complete the review process within the agreed timeframe.
Publication Malpractice
Muhammadiyah Law Review does not tolerate any form of publication misconduct, including but not limited to:

Plagiarism;

Self-plagiarism;

Duplicate or redundant publication;

Data fabrication or falsification;
-
Citation manipulation;

Authorship manipulation or inappropriate attribution of authorship;

Undisclosed conflicts of interest; and

Any unethical research or publication practices.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject submitted manuscripts or retract published articles if evidence of publication misconduct is identified. Appropriate actions will be taken in accordance with the COPE guidelines.
Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process. Manuscripts with an unacceptable level of textual similarity or evidence of plagiarism will be rejected or returned to the authors for revision, depending on the severity of the findings.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain the copyright of their published work while granting Muhammadiyah Law Review the right to publish the article. Articles are published under the journal's licensing policy, allowing users to read, download, distribute, and cite published works in accordance with the applicable license and copyright regulations.
Ethical Commitment
By submitting a manuscript to Muhammadiyah Law Review, authors acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with the journal's publication ethics.
