PENINGKATAN PEMAHAMAN SISWA PADA MATERI POLINOMIAL MELALUI PENERAPAN PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF JIGSAW
Abstract
This study is to enhance the students’ learning outcomes in Math subject, especially on polynomial material. This is a type of classroom action research. It was done in 2 cycles, and each was implemented in 3 meetings. The subjects were 33 students in class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Tarakan. The data include the activities of students and teachers, student learning outcomes and their level of participation. The data were collected by observation, tests, and documentation. Based on the analysis, it was found out that the implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model has improved the quality of math learning. It is indicated by the data on the students’ learning outcomes and their participation. Before the treatment, only 6.06% of students achieved the standard score of 70. It increased sharply after the first cycle, 39.39%, and finally hit 81.82% at the end of the second cycle. The student participation also shows an improving trend, from the 85% in the first meeting to 100% at the last meeting. Another evidence is their average score—that was 47.68 in the evaluation of the first meeting and became 75.76 after the last meeting. Thus, it can be summarized that the learning model is effective in improving math learning.
