BUKU CERITA FABEL BERBASIS PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER UNTUK SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR KELAS TINGGI

Abstract


This study aims to develop a bilingual fable story book based on character education namely social awareness attitudes. It specifically aimed at knowing; (1) steps in the development of the bilingual fable story book based on social awareness character education, (2) the feasibility of the bilingual fable story book based on social awareness character education, and (3) students' responses to the bilingual fable story book based on social awareness character education that has been developed. This research applied Borg and Gall's method which was limited to five initial stages, namely research and information collecting, planning, developing, preliminary form of the product, preliminary field testing, and main product revision. 20 (twenty) grade V elementary school students at SD Negeri 2 Tibubeneng participated in this study. Descriptive data in this study were collected through questionnaire. There are 6 (six) stages in this study, (1) determining the theme, (2) making a story board, (3) determining the characters, (4) making the illustration, (5) uniting the elements, and (6) experts’ validation. The results of this study indicate that the book developed is suitable for use as a learning tool. Based on the results of the data, a 'good' rating from the media experts (108) and the material experts (105). In addition, the data from students and teacher were also obtained in this study. Excellent grades were obtained from the responses of the students with a score of 100, and a very good response was also obtained from the teacher (85).
