ANALISIS PERANAN KOMITE SEKOLAH DALAM MENINGKATKAN MUTU LAYANAN PENDIDIKAN DI SMA NEGERI 1 SEPUTIH SURABAYA LAMPUNG TENGAH
Abstract
This study aims: 1) to determine the role of school committees in improving the quality of education services in SMA; 2) to know the supporting and inhibiting factors of school committee role in improving the quality of education service in SMA; 3) to know the quality of education service in SMA. The study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach with a facto case design. Data collection was done by interview, observation and documentation with informants: principals, school committees, teachers, students and parents guardians of SMA Negeri 1 Seputih Surabaya.
Data analysis is done through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. To check the validity of data is done by checking the credibility of data with triangulation. Stages in this research are pralapangan stage, research stage, and reporting stage of research results.
The results showed that each school committee role that is the role of giver of consideration, support, controller, and relation has good. To improve the quality of education services in SMA Negeri 1 Seputih Surabaya, the school committee as an independent organization desperately needs support and cooperation with various parties as well as increased professionalism and competence of school committee members. The supporting factors of the school committee are as follows: 1) Cooperation between all school members starting from the school committee; 2) The high sense of kinship of all the citizens of the school; 3) work atmosphere (work culture) conducive organization, both school committee and school party. With the existence of a conducive working culture all problems and constraints can be solved by joint deliberation, so that the resulting decision can be done well. The results of data analysis also shows that the quality of education services in SMA Negeri 1 Seputih Surabaya based on interviews with several stakeholders and direct observation can be categorized as good.
