Focus and Scope

Muhammadiyah Law Review is an open-access, non-profit, double-blind peer-reviewed journal published by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro, Indonesia. The journal serves as a platform for scholarly discussion and the dissemination of high-quality research in the fields of law and legal studies. It aims to promote academic exchange among researchers, legal practitioners, policymakers, and professionals at both the national and international levels.

Muhammadiyah Law Review publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, and critical analyses that contribute to the development of legal scholarship. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary and comparative approaches to legal studies and regularly features thematic issues addressing emerging legal challenges. Although its primary focus is on Indonesian law and the Indonesian legal system, the journal also encourages comparative and international perspectives that are relevant to Indonesian legal development.

The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Constitutional Law and Administrative Law;
  • Criminal Law and Criminal Justice;
  • Civil and Private Law;
  • International Law related to Indonesia;
  • Comparative Law;
  • Law and Economics;
  • Sociology of Law;
  • Legal Anthropology;
  • Commercial and Business Law;
  • Technology and Cyber Law;
  • Natural Resources and Environmental Law;
  • Human Rights Law;
  • Islamic Law and Contemporary Legal Issues; and
  • Other legal studies relevant to the Indonesian legal system.

Manuscripts addressing topics beyond the areas listed above are also welcome, provided that they make a significant contribution to legal scholarship and maintain a clear relevance to Indonesian law or legal development.
