Allegations of Misconduct
Allegations of Misconduct
At-Tajdid: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pemikiran Islam evaluates concerns supported by evidence regarding research or publication integrity, whether raised before or after publication. Receiving a report begins an assessment and does not, in itself, establish that misconduct has taken place.
1. SUBMITTING A REPORT
Concerns should be directed to the editorial office of At-Tajdid: Jurnal Pendidikan dan Pemikiran Islam through the journal’s official contact channel, using the subject line Integrity Concern – [Article or Submission Identifier].
Reports should:
-
Identify the manuscript or published article, providing its title and DOI or submission identifier where available.
-
Explain the precise concern and indicate the relevant text passages, data, figures, or actions.
-
Supply supporting evidence, links to original sources, or sufficient explanation to enable assessment.
-
Disclose any conflict of interest that could affect the handling of the report and identify any confidentiality concerns.
Reports may relate to the conduct of authors, reviewers, editors, or publishing staff. Individuals submitting concerns should avoid transmitting sensitive personal information through unsecured communication channels.
2. INITIAL ASSESSMENT
The editorial office documents each concern and acknowledges receipt when the reporter’s contact information is available. An editor without a relevant conflict of interest determines whether the matter falls within the journal’s remit, whether sufficient information has been provided, and whether clarification or further examination is needed.
Reports are evaluated according to their substance, regardless of the reporter’s seniority, institutional affiliation, or connection to the journal. Anonymous reports may also be considered if they provide sufficiently specific information.
Claims lacking adequate support may require further details. A report closed because of insufficient supporting information may be reopened if significant new evidence becomes available.
3. FAIRNESS AND REFERRAL
Relevant parties are ordinarily offered an opportunity to address the specific concerns raised, subject to appropriate safeguards. Limited preliminary checks may take place before notification when necessary to preserve evidence or protect research participants.
Cases requiring further examination are referred for handling under the Integrity Investigations policy. Institutions or other competent authorities may be requested to investigate issues that fall outside the journal’s authority.
Manuscript processing may be temporarily suspended while a credible concern is examined. Such a suspension is a precautionary measure and does not constitute a determination of misconduct.
Related Policies: Whistleblowing sets out provisions for reporter protection and confidentiality. Integrity Investigations governs the examination of cases and their outcomes. Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern specify how changes to the published record are handled.
